NOW FOR SOME ENCOURAGEMENT....

Tuesday this week my son was playing in the district championship baseball game. It started at 7:30pm. My intention was to finish up with a late client I had coming in a little after 7pm, pack up my stuff and head out to the ball park.

As I was getting ready to leave, I took a second to look at our main sales page. I can't really tell you why I looked at it--I don't usually do that before I leave--but on Tuesday I did.

That's when I had a crisis.

It seems that that JavaScripts that place the headline on the page and the prices in the body of the sales letter were not working properly. I instantly knew what was wrong--we had accidentally loaded an incomplete page instead of the page we had intended to. And my son's ball game was going to start in five minutes--the exact amount of time it takes me to drive from the office to the field.

I left.

I figured that anybody who saw our page that night would be a little perplexed, and that I would probably lose a sale or two, but I would rather lose a sale than have my son think that work was more important than his game.

Wednesday morning I returned to the office. As I was going through the emails I found one with the subject "How much does it cost?" I chuckled to myself before I read the email because I knew exactly why it had come.

Sometimes we get so caught up in building a business that we forget WHY we are building a business. The reason that I work for myself is so that I can go to ball games, so that I can have time for family, so that I can provide a lifestyle that is just a touch better than average for my family.

Don't lose sight of what is really important today.

Wishing You Whole-Life Success,

Scott
