Thanks for allowing me to take part in this interview! I really enjoy letting people know that there are ways to actually make a living on-line and love to watch them succeed!

Tell us about our your background online--what sites do you run?

I've been doing computer work since the dark ages (well punch cards anyway) and on the Internet since day one.

Tell us about how those sites got started--where did the ideas come from?

Our sites were a gradual evolution. We started developing business sites as soon as the Internet was born. More and more of our clients were looking for similar features and we wanted software that would build powerful communities of people around business ideas.

Our PortalCube(tm) product was developed over the past four years and we started producing sites that people could sign up for and then customize to their own use.

In the meantime, I found a mass of people that wanted to earn money on the Internet and tried to find ways to help them do it. That led to a community of over 100,000 members at the MBS Internet Research Center and the MBS Internet Resource Center.

Finally, I teamed up with Jim Daniels to produce AffiliateShowcase.com, which is really the crowning achievement so far!

Each idea has been fine-tuned and evolved with each new project. We learn every time we try something, even if we fail at it. (Maybe especially if we fail!)

Looking back, what would you do differently if you were starting over today?

Invest in Microsoft in 1980! Actually, I think that I would try to plan more for actually succeeding. I don't think when I started out, I really believed that I would do so well. People kept telling me I would fail and I did, but I also managed to keep food on the table. You have to invest yourself, your time, your
available money and your commitment to make it work. To do put so much into a project you have to believe that you can succeed.

Is your online business your only source of income?

My on-line business is more than full-time and gives me a full-time income. We've added four employees just to handle customer support at AffiliateShowcase.com

But ... In my "spare" time, I also am the director of music at my church and direct several choirs and supervise the music program and its staff. They are nice enough to pay me to do that.

If so, how long have you been full-time online?

My company has been going since 1989 and the Internet has been the full-time focus since about 1997.

Last month you made a CHUNK of sales for our affiliate program--and closed one visitor out of every 57.

How did you get visitors to the site? What promotions did you do?

We actively promoted your program to all of our members through the AffiliateShowcase Alert!, our official Newsletter for AffiliateShowcase. We are also using it as one of our recommended programs in the Melissa Project, which is a great step-by-step, real-time case study for making money with an
AffiliateShowcase site.

With over 15,000 member sites, we have moved steadily up the list of most visited sites on the Internet. According to alexa.org we are now ahead of ToysRUs.com even in the middle of the holiday season!

TrafficRanking.com has AffiliateShowcase at 316 out of over 40 million sites on their most visited websites list.

The key to our success is over 15,000 members that are working together to raise the awareness of the great system that we have.

Can you give our readers a brief description of how AS works?

Sid Hale also wrote an "Insider's Guide to AffiliateShowcase" that is doing very well.

Affiliate Mistakes, Ad Minder, NameStick, Internet Marketing Challenge, Surefire Marketing RoiBot Multi Products, TopEzineAds.com are all producing well.

We are getting calls from lots of top programs saying that their sales have gone through the roof!

We have a number of readers who are wanting to create sites that just market affiliate products, what advice would you give to them about selling more products?

Pick quality programs and recommend them personally. Our best affiliates make their sales with repeated (but varied) messages that are going to the same audience.

For instance: This is what is coming up... here it is ... Wow! look at all these new features ... Here are my results ... Still growing ...The personal relationship still counts! You get the idea!
