If you missed the first one you can get a copy of it by sending a blank email to: Mistake Two: Not Doing Active, Multiple Channel Marketing How many ways are there to market any website? There must be dozens if not hundreds. A common mistake made by failing businesses is to use just one or two ways to market their site, rather than tapping into as many as they can. "But I’ve got a SiteBuildIt Site and I’m waiting for Google to get me traffic." Good for you, and I hope Google DOES get you tons of traffic. In the mean time, though, why not spend your time syndicating your content to article groups? http://www.All-In-One-Business.com/groups Or creating an eBook you can give away free to people who visit your site, submitting it to the various free directories around? http://www.All-In-One-Business.com/1000 Solution Two: If you’re not using multiple ways to market your site every week, add more. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Pick one and "just do it." You might be amazed at the results. Mistake Three: Not Having a Reasonable Product and Market What is reasonable? Simple: Your product must be unique-either in substance or price-and must solve a problem within your market. You must be able to reach your market at a reasonable cost. Think about what that means for just a second: If you are trying to market just another "Get-Rich-Quick" eBook, you’re going to have a tough time. Not only will it be tough to differentiate yourself as unique, the market is so saturated that penetrating it will likely require an inordinate amount of money and time. Does this describe you and your website? If so, change is in order. Solution Three: Make sure you have products you can offer at a discount from the "normal" price, or that are based on a unique supplier or other unique source. If you are selling an eBook you wrote yourself, make sure you really know what you are talking about. If you have been successfully and happily married for 40 years, don’t write a book about how to make money online, write about having a successful marriage. In choosing a market, consider how you are going to reach that market. Research your competition. Can you beat them with Pay-Per-Click ads and still make a profit? What about recruiting affiliates? The wisdom and research you put into your product and market will pay off huge dividends in the years to come. Are you making money online yet? If not, try looking at these three common mistakes. You will likely find at least one of them being the source of your trouble. |
