Making Huge Sales in No Time Part IX

In this series I am detailing how I put together an affiliate promotion in just 3 days and made over $5,000 in sales-and how anyone can imitate these same techniques.

So far here’s how the promotion went:

  1. I got Marlon Sanders to help allow me to do a teleseminar interview featuring his Dashboard product.
  2. I announced the teleseminar many weeks in advance.
  3. I got sick and did no promotion-none-until just 3 days before the event.
  4. We held the call.
  5. We began follow-up with the visitors and ended up selling 69 copies of his Dashboard product in 10 days.
Here’s where the value of a list really kicked in.

So far I had sold about $3,500 worth of products for Marlon with a sales commission of $2,523.13. But I had also done something else: I had added 1,682 NEW people to my mailing list-this is in addition to those already on my list who also registered.

Over the next 3 months, just those 1,682 people purchased an additional $2,893.04 in my own products just from receiving my newsletter.

That means the promotion I put together in just 3 days earned me $5,416.17. Not setting any records, but it was a nice payoff.

Here are some things I would do differently now to increase the response to even higher amounts:

  1. I would promote more and earlier.
  2. I would recruit more newsletter owners to help me promote.
  3. I would do a shorter teleconference (many people never listened to the "pitch" so the response was lower.)
  4. I wouldn’t tell people the teleconference would be available by MP3 until AFTER it was completed.
By the way, I did a similar promotion in August-without even getting any outside help-and netted out over $8,000.
