Back to The Basics: An Internet Marketing Blueprint
and Some Traffic Generation Techniques

"The People Have Spoken"!

The surveys are still pouring in from Tuesday's request.

And, if you still haven't taken the survey, it only takes about 1 minute to complete.

Simply go here and fill out this one question survey: A simple key question that all business
owners should be continuously asking themselves.

Here’s the link to the quick one question Survey:

It seems the areas where most people are facing the toughest challenges and are struggling with
the most in their Internet Businesses are:

     > Getting Traffic To My Website

     > Need A Step-By-Step Plan

     > Building a List of Potential Customers

     > Where to Start - Overall Confusion

     > Information Overload

We're going to address these issues and help you come up with some simple solutions to these common problems.

Follow the advice in this article, and you'll begin to address all of the above issues and be well on your way to accomplishing your online goals.

So, with that, "Let's Get It On!"

The first thing we need to talk about is building the almighty list. You see it constantly,
everywhere. "The Money Is In The List". Ok, we get it already, we've got to build a list.

So, where do we start? First off, and this is for those of you who may just be getting started.
Actually, this may even apply to alot of you who have started but just haven't really put all of the
pieces together.

And for those of you who are intermediate to advanced, please bear with me. We'll get to what
you're looking for in a minute.

The first place we need to start is... do you actually have a website? There were alot of you
who filled out the survey and said that you needed a plan, a place to start.

Well, here it is. You need to have a website. If you’re serious about this business, that is the first
step.

Go to www.000domains.com, GoDaddy.com or any other registrar and try to find a name that matches the market you are aiming to enter.

If you're unsure, just register your first and last name for now.

You'll be registering more names down the road, trust me. But it's all good because with every name you register, think of it as building your Virtual Real Estate Empire. (We'll talk about that at another time)

The next thing on your mind, I know, I can sense it, is the "But I don't know how to build a website" issue.

Don't worry; I've got a quick, inexpensive solution for you. It's the ever popular BLOG.

For those of you who may be more advanced in Internet Marketing, you'll want to pay attention to this part. Especially if you don't have a blog set up yet.

You've probably heard of WordPress. It's a blogging format or software that is free for the taking.

Don't worry; you don't need any technical skill and you're not going to have to lift a finger to set this all up if you follow what I'm about to share with you.

Here's where things get good! Even for you "old timers". Just so you know, Old Timers are anyone who has been online studying and actively participating in the art and science of Internet Marketing for more than 6 months.

The next thing you need to do is go to www.RentACoder.com or www.Scriptlance.com. Another one I've used is www.eLance.com.

But, for this project, I'd suggest www.RentACoder.com

Set up a free account and do a bid request for the following job (copy and paste this paragraph if you want):

"I need WordPress installed on my website. I would also like to have a step-by-step tutorial of how it was done specifically on my webhost's system. The more detailed the instructions/tutorial the better."

I requested this same exact bid and received 12 bids ranging from $15 to $50.

It took the programmer about an hour or so to do the work.

I was able to log onto my site and post an article to my new blog within a couple of days!

This whole process cost a total of $28.95 including registering a domain name. If you need hosting it will cost a little extra.

Next. And this is where you start building traffic.

One thing about traffic, and I'm quoting Kevin Bidwell here, is "Traffic is not your goal! - Paying customers are your goal."

We'll explore that comment at a later time. But, for now....

I would start writing 1-5 related articles per day and submitting them to article directories.

Use keywords in your articles that match your target audience or niche market. Words that they would use in a search engine to find your information.

A couple of things you may be thinking.

> I'm not a good writer.

> How do I make money with this.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, you need to get over your fear of writing.

This is the Internet.

It doesn't have to be neat and pretty. It can be like writing a letter to a friend. Just get your
thoughts out there.

People use the Internet to find information. The most widely used way to convey your message and to share the information that you hold, is to through writing.

So, do alot of it.

The directories will get your articles in the search engines and on other websites.

Your target audience will find your site from the bio you leave at the end of your article that can
simply say, "for more information go www.yoursite.com"

A couple of quick ideas on how you can make money with this.

First, you can set up a Google Adsense account and have the techie from www.RentACoder.com put your Google Adsense code on your blog.

Second, you can mention products and services in your blog posts and on you site that have affiliate programs.

And the most effective and profitable way is to start capturing the names and email addresses of
the people that visit your site.

The easiest and best way to do this is to set up an autoresponder and put a sign up form on your site. Again, you can have this work be a part of your bid at www.RentACoder.com.

Most Internet Marketers today use Aweber for their autoresponder service.
Go to www.aWeber.com

Well, for those of you that don't have a plan, there ya go! A step-by-step plan anyone can follow.

For the advanced crowd. We'll get into some more traffic generation techniques next week.

Until then....

Here's Wishing You Whole Life Success!
